Friday, Eden and I went with my friend Shalise , her mom, and her girls to the healing fields in Sandy to visit and commemorate September 11th. What a beautiful and sobering site it was to see all those flags, and it was likely a representation of only a tenth of the amount of people who lost their lives in that tragedy. Words cannot express the impact that that event had on our nation. The girls sure loved running through the flags and giggled the whole time. May we recognize that we all stand so much to lose and be grateful for the blessings of still having each other. I sure love Shalise and have enjoyed getting reacquainted with her after a few years. I took care of both of her girls in the NICU after they were born.

They are beautiful, incredibly smart girls and it is so rewarding to see what amazing progress they have made from their tiny birth weights. It makes my job as a nurse that more fulfilling. Shalise and her mom Gloria are heaven sent too and I appreciate their genuine friendship.
