Goodbye summer...boohoo!

Seriously! Why does summer fly by so quickly? I hate it! Even though it is sticky hot and my car turns into an oven.....I love love love everything else about it! I love the popsicles and sprinklers, the bright sunlight, deep green grass and colorful flowers, barbeques, lemonade stands, excuses for more ice cream, cool starry nights and the crickets. Oh...the list goes on. Here's a few more pics and a recap of some of our summer adventures.

The definite highlight of our summer was our commemorative hike up Mt. Olympus on June 9th to honor Brian's life and celebrate Paul's "new life". There are NO WORDS to describe this experience. It was one filled with gratitude and reverence for a dear life gone and a miraculous life spared. This day definitely will go down in my book of life!

We did plenty of fishing and camping!

Lovin those s'mores !

Paul had several speaking and performing assignments out of town. Eden and I tagged along to Houston and I got to accompany him to Chicago. It was so fun to meet wonderful families from all over that are affected by congenital heart disease. Paul is pictured here with cute Josh at the Saving Tiny Hearts Gala in Chicago. Josh is the reason his amazing parents pull off this huge event every year to fund heart research projects. Josh has a special heart like Paul!

Enjoying the rain as we walked the city of Chicago.

Paul kept a busy schedule but made time for fun events too as seen here with friend Orin Hatch.

Getting soaked on the Log Flume at Lagoon....definitely Eden's favorite ride!

I think Eden and her friend Tanner rode this ride nearly 20 times that day! There was no line at dinner time so they kept jumping back on.

Swimming never gets old....never!

So glad dad can swim with us now....he's pretty fun in the sun!

Yard work with dad....a new adventure!

We love to sit on the porch in the evening.

We love the fall season too but we are not ready to jump into winter just yet!

I am so sad that summer is almost over too. I do love everything about summer...even the heat! It's better than being freezing cold driving in the snow.

I bet this has to be Edens's favorite summer yet, with her dad healed and feeling so well. I am sure they both had new adventures together.

Hope all is going well with you. See ya in a few months.

I couldn't agree more! I hate to see summer end, but fall is so refreshing, just wish it would stay nice and mild instead of hot to cold suddenly! Great pictures, so glad you've had a wonderful year!
